چکیده

Stripe (yellow) rust disease caused by Puccinia striifarmis f. sp. tritici, is a catastrophic wheat in wheat-growing regions around the world. The objective of this study was to investigate potential sources stripe resistance and yield loss forty local varieties at four locations Egypt (Sakha, Mutubas, Qillin Biyala), under yellow pressure compared ‘Morroco’ variety, as control. To determine slow rusting field, following parameters were recorded: final severity (FRS%), average coefficient infection (ACI), relative index (RRI) reduction % 1000 kernel weight. higher second season than first. Seven genotypes (‘Shaka 62’, ‘Shaka 9, 95’, ‘Gemmiza 7’, ‘Sids 14’ ‘Misr 3’) showed high level resistance, FRS% values ranged from 0 20 moderately resistant (MR) during first achieved least value TKW (1.28%) with 3’. Meanwhile, (‘Sakha 93’, ‘Sakha ‘Gim. 7’) remained highly identified have good which these 5R 30 resistant-moderately susceptible (MRMS), ACI ≤12, RRI ≥6 not exceed 12.54%. On other hand, lines; 69’, 88’, 92’, ‘Giza 160’, 163’, ‘Gem 11’, 2’ 6’ exhibited complete susceptibility tested sites, recorded >50. cv. 11’ 2018/2019 highest ≥55, lowest RRI≤4.05 loss% reached 40.69%. These findings could be used national breeding program for Egypt.

Epidemiology and control of stripe rust [Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici ] on wheat

Stripe rust of wheat, caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici, is one of the most important diseases of wheat worldwide. This review presents basic and recent information on the epidemiology of stripe rust, changes in pathogen virulence and population structure, and movement of the pathogen in the United States and around the world. The impact and causes of recent epidemics in the United ...

Wheat TaNPSN SNARE homologues are involved in vesicle-mediated resistance to stripe rust (Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici)

Subcellular localisation of SNAREs (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptors) and their ability to form SNARE complexes are critical for determining the specificity of vesicle fusion. NPSN11, a Novel Plant SNARE (NPSN) gene, has been reported to be involved in the delivery of cell wall precursors to the newly formed cell plate during cytokinesis. However, functions...

A Novel Fungal Hyperparasite of Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici, the Causal Agent of Wheat Stripe Rust

Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst), the causal fungus of wheat stripe rust, was previously reported to be infected by Lecanicillium lecanii, Microdochium nivale and Typhula idahoensis. Here, we report a novel hyperparasite on Pst. This hyperparasitic fungus was identified as Cladosporium cladosporioides (Fresen.) GA de Vries based on morphological characteristics observed by light and sc...

Constructing Physical and Genomic Maps for Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici, the Wheat Stripe Rust Pathogen, by Comparing Its EST Sequences to the Genomic Sequence of P. graminis f. sp. tritici, the Wheat Stem Rust Pathogen

The wheat stripe rust fungus, Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst), does not have a known alternate host for sexual reproduction, which makes it impossible to study gene linkages through classic genetic and molecular mapping approaches. In this study, we compared 4,219 Pst expression sequence tags (ESTs) to the genomic sequence of P. graminis f. sp. tritici (Pgt), the wheat stem rust fungu...
